Loco Motive – Beta Demo

Loco Motive is a very funny and beautifully animated pixel art point and click adventure where you attempt to solve a murder aboard a luxury train.

Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer when it was a game jam prototype, Loco Motive is now being fleshed out into a full game. While the original had one playable character, the full version of Loco Motive will have three playable characters, with intersecting storylines. Each of the characters are prime suspects in the murder of a wealthy old lady aboard a luxury train. They’ll need to explore the train, search for clues and useful items, and solve puzzles as they attempt to reveal the killer.

The demo build of Loco Motive takes around an hour to play through and follows the story of an attorney called Arthur Ackerman. As far as point and click adventures go, it’s pretty much perfect – the puzzles are logical, the pixel art animation is superb, it’s got lots of fun characters to meet, the writing is sharp and it’s got an intriguing story. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable murder mystery romp with a train full of interesting suspects and plenty of great gags. Highly recommended.
